Eugenio Maria Fagiani

He studied with M° Enzo Corti in Milan and got an Organ and a Composition Diploma at the «Luca Marenzio» Conservatorium in Brescia. He also graduated in Musicology at the SPFM in Cremona-Pavia University with a graduation thesis on «Marcel Duprè and the art of improvisation». He took part to several specialization courses in interpretation with Nigel Allcoat, Ewald Kooiman, Piet Kee, Daniel Roth, Gillian Weir and Naji Hakim. Later on he specialized in the art of improvisation with: Nigel Allcoat, Jurgen Essl, Peter Planyavsky e Naji Hakim. He also went thoroughly into the study of Music Analysis with Marcel Bitsch.

He regularly performs in Europe, the United States and Canada on some of the most important instruments (including St. Paul's Cathedral in London, Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtnis Kirche in Berlin, Basilica of the National Shrine of Immaculate Conception in Washington D.C., St. Patrick's Cathedral and St. Bartholomew’s Church in New York City, St. James Anglican Cathedral in Toronto, Brucknerorgel of the Skt. Florian Stiftsbasilika in Skt. Florian - Linz, the Shrine of La Verna, S. Vitale's Basilica in Ravenna).

He is in charge of the yearly Improvisation Courses organized by the «Città di Bergamo» International Organ Festival, and is invited regularly as guest teacher by several schools, like NYU New York University and the Royal Canadian College of Organists in Toronto.

He is Director of Music and Organist of the historical organ «Locatelli» (1899), in the Saint Michael the Archangel's Church in Mapello, Bergamo. In 2008 he also received the prestigious appointment as Deputy Organist of the Franciscan Sanctuary of La Verna, Arezzo.

His activity as a composer is quite appreciated, as testified by a lot of international performers’ programs entailing his works, and by several commissions, among which a composition, «Stele» (2002), commissioned by Stephen Tharp for the second commemoration of Sept. 11th, 2001’s tragedy (performed during the ceremony in St. Patrick’s Cathedral, New York City, on Sept. 11th, 2003), published by Editions Delatour France. The success of his works is also testified by a growing number of recordings.

He’s also the author of a successful series of orchestral works transcriptions for organ.
His works are published by Carrara, Turris and Delatour France.
